IDOM has been contracted for the development of a building called Klynstron, an access tunnel to the particle accelerator and several interconnecting elements between the tunnel and outdoors.
3D3 INGENIERÍA is contracted for making the structural project of the Klynstron building.
From a structural point of view, the building is made up of several steel gantries connected by bolts, with a crane bridge that moves along the plant. The foundations consist of a reinforced concrete slab that is supporting the heavy loads projected to be installed on the floor.
Steel cross frame joints are rigid and the structure is stiffened by using St Andrew´s crosses.
The building is also calculated to bear the seismic stresses of Meyrin, in Switzerland.
